Workshop Supervisor

Reporting to the Area Manager – Mining Components, the Workshop Supervisor will join the Small Components team on a full‑time basis at our Welshpool Operations. This position leads a small team within the mining components department, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The role is responsible for managing work orders, coordinating store performance, and maintaining productivity and compliance to meet the expectations of both our customers and WesTrac.
Roster – Monday – Friday, 10.5 Hrs/Day (including meal break) day shift only
What You'll Do:
- Lead a strong safety culture by modelling safe behaviours, ensuring compliance with all WesTrac and customer safety standards, and driving proactive hazard reporting and continuous improvement.
- Communicate directly with customers to provide updates on work orders, clarify requirements, and ensure service delivery met agreed timelines and quality expectations.
- Manage and develop the workshop team, setting clear KPIs, conducting performance reviews, coaching staff, and ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Oversee daily workshop operations, including Work in Progress (WIP) control, technician productivity, work order accuracy, and timely job invoicing to meet performance targets.
- Coordinate resources and workflow, including labour allocation, training and leave planning, warranty management, tool calibration, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience:
- Solid component knowledge (OEM experience desirable) or strong familiarity with mobile plant equipment.
- Trade qualification highly regarded.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient computer user with strong MS Office capability.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage shifting workloads, prioritise effectively, and work both independently and collaboratively.
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to delivering quality work.
