About the role

As part of our continued growth, WesTrac is seeking experienced Mechanics to join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) in Tomago. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role within our CRC Branch offers the opportunity to work on engines, powertrains, or final drives from a diverse range of Caterpillar machines.

 

Whether it’s Dozers, Off-Highway Trucks, or other equipment, you’ll be part of a team of skilled mechanics. This role provides exposure to component maintenance, rebuilds, and the chance to receive specialised training on the job.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the assembly and disassembly of engines, powertrains, and final drives.
  • Contribute to maintenance tasks and servicing procedures.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, prioritise customer satisfaction, and maintain high technician productivity.
  • Work effectively within a high-performing team to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Hold an Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
  • Familiarity with component change-outs and engine assembly is advantageous.
  • Experience with Caterpillar surface mining equipment (desirable).
  • Solutions focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Collaborative and able to work well within a team.
  • High Risk Work Licenses for Forklift and Dogging is desirable.
  • Unrestricted Driver’s License.

 Roster and Remuneration

  • Monday - Friday roster
  • 2 weeks of 5 Days on, 2 Days off followed by 2 weeks of 5 Nights on, 2 Nights off
  • Annual earnings from $117,000
