We are seeking students currently completing studies in the following disciplines to participate in our Austmine Accelerating Women in METS program

  • Business or Commerce
  • Engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics)
  • Construction Management or Project Management
  • Technology
  • Mathematics

 

You will be accountable for providing operational support to the team by undertaking a range of customer-focused business improvement activities and/or projects. You will assist key business units with the intent to increase revenue, productivity, quality and customer service in line with our strategic focus.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Utilise technical knowledge and skills to assist with coordination and completion of business improvement projects that are aligned to our strategic focus areas.

2. Assist with ongoing administration and management of compliance requirements for the projects allocated.

3. Pro-actively identify processes within the department that would benefit from improvements and recommend the appropriate action

 

Key skills

  • Strong computer literacy skills in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build and maintain successful working relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to analyse problems and provide appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team

 

Example of improvement activities and/or projects:

  • Working load limits for Caterpillar machines
  • Develop design guides for low complexity Dealer Provided Options (machine modifications) to provide installation guidance for workshops and customers.
  • Creation of standard work documents to support the velocity and quality of new machines.
  • Optimal workshop design and application of LEAN methodologies.
