About the role

With continued growth and future expansion plans for multiple workshops on site, we’re seeking Trades Assistants to join our high performing teams!

 

In these roles you will work closely with Workshop Supervisors and Team Leads across our Rebuilds, Machine Shop, Hydraulics and Component Rebuild Centre workshop divisions. The successful candidates will share our commitment to a safe work environment, customer satisfaction, and technician productivity.

Roster & Remuneration 

  • Monday-Friday (48 Hour week + rotating days/nights)
  • Roster Pattern: 5D2O x2 5N2O x2
  • Hourly rates FROM $37.53 P/HR + OT FROM $56.30 + super
  • Delayed starts available!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support trades by cleaning and inspecting CAT components, cylinder honing, and performing miscellaneous workshop tasks.
  • Build new components and repair/reclaim worn undercarriage parts for CAT machinery
  • Assist with maintenance, servicing, and complete rebuilds through specialised on-the-job training.
  • Assemble and disassemble engines, powertrains, and final drives from various CAT machinery and equipment.
  • Commit to safety and quality assurance, working unsupervised with a positive attitude.

 

Skills & Experience

  • A strong mechanical aptitude or interest in mechanical systems is essential.
  • Experience using hand and power tools for repair and assembly work.
  • Ability to follow procedures and scopes of work.
  • Previous experience in a similar would be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
  • Collaborative and able to work well within a team.
  • Valid Drivers Licence and HRW Forklift Licence.
