About the role
WesTrac’s Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) in Tomago is looking for skilled Boilermakers and qualified NDT Technicians to join our team.
In this role, you will report to Workshop Supervisors within the Engines and Power Train divisions and be responsible for testing engines, powertrains, and final drive components for large-scale CAT machinery.
We are looking for professionals who can maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity while contributing to exceptional customer outcomes.
Roster and Remuneration
- Roster: Monday to Friday- 1 week days, 1 week nights
- Hourly rates starting from $46.48 + $69.72 OT + Super

Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) on various CAT components to ensure quality and safety
- Utilise advanced NDT techniques and equipment
- Interpret and evaluate test results in accordance with applicable standards and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and findings while generating reports and recommendations
- Conduct light fabrication and welding tasks as needed to support rebuild and repair activities
- Collaborate with the team to ensure timely completion of rebuild projects
Skills and Experience
- Certification in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and Magnetic Particle Testing (MP1 & MP2) is essential
- Certification in Ultrasonic Testing (UT1 & UT 2) is advantageous
- Trade Certification in Fabrication Engineering and/or First-Class welding experience is an advantage
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills
