Due to an internal secondment, the People & Culture Team are seeking a solutions focussed leader to join the team as Talent Acquisition Manager for an initial 6-month period with possible view to extension.

Reporting to the General Manager – People & Culture, you will lead the NSW recruitment team and be accountable for supporting business operations through labour and resourcing solutions.

Based from our Tomago Head Office, you will embed the People & Culture strategy to position the Talent Acquisition team to successfully recruit a variety of roles through both internal and external recruitment.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Execute recruitment activities in alignment with WesTrac’s FY26 Strategy and position WesTrac as an employer of choice 
  • Lead and coach a close-knit team of recruitment advisors and coordinators
  • Collaborate with P&C leaders nationally to drive continuous improvement initiatives with a particular focus on system improvements and automation (SuccessFactors)
  • Review contracts of employment to ensure accuracy, alignment to policy, legislation and industrial instruments and candidate alignment to inherent role requirements
  • Oversee recruitment activity to ensure alignment to forecasts and a best practice approach including providing recommendations on remuneration, candidate suitability etc
  • Be a point of escalation for any matters and proactively mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications team to deliver media and digital strategies to position WesTrac as an employer of choice and leverage our Made for More EVP
  • Implement sourcing and attraction initiatives to meet changing business and market requirements
  • Manage relationships with third party providers (labour hire, medical providers, seek/advertising platforms etc)
  • Conduct regular reporting on a range of key metrics for stakeholders including board reporting
  • Partner with senior leaders to conduct recruitment and selection for key leadership roles and support internal talent mobility
  • Oversee onboarding to ensure effectiveness and compliance

 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Leadership experience within a large organisation
  • Tertiary qualifications in business and/or human resources are highly desirable
  • Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding within a large organisation
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and contracts
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to build rapport with hiring managers
  • High level of computer literacy and ability to pick up multiple systems
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and familiarity with remuneration strategies and practices
  • Flexible in your approach and willingness to adapt to an often busy and changing environment
