About the Role  

Due to internal promotion, WesTrac is seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchasing Manager to join our team based at our Tomago facility.

 

In this role, you will lead a team of 6 personnel, overseeing all purchasing and sourcing functions on a national level and embodying company values through your actions and decisions. You will also provide leadership and training on purchasing and sourcing systems, guide stakeholders to ensure alignment across dealerships, and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimise purchasing and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Direct the national purchasing and sourcing team to achieve procurement objectives.
  • Enhance and manage national purchasing and sourcing systems for improved efficiency.
  • Oversee supplier quality and on-time delivery monitoring systems to support strategic goals.
  • Manage the national supplier base, addressing strategic obstacles to expedite delivery and reduce machine turn times.
  • Guide stakeholders to ensure alignment across dealerships.
  • Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for purchasing and sourcing.
  • Implement tools and best practices to optimise purchasing and decision-making processes.
  • Establish data and price governance frameworks and spearhead sourcing savings initiatives.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing, engineering, construction, mining, or related industries.
  • Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline. (Desired, not mandatory)
  • Proven leadership experience in a Procurement function and familiarity with compliance and quality environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Ariba or similar ERP systems and advanced Microsoft skills is desirable.
