Project Coordinator – Component Rebuild Centre - Tomago

This Project Coordinator role plays a critical role in supporting the performance, compliance, safety and efficiency of the Component Rebuild Workshops. This role is responsible for coordinating and driving site-based improvement initiatives across facilities, tooling, contamination control, digital systems and operational processes.

Working closely with Operations, Quality, CI, IT, Caterpillar and external stakeholders, the role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time and to defined standards, while also embedding sustainable process improvements. The position acts as a key link between operational realities on the floor and structured improvement, compliance and reporting frameworks.

The role has a strong focus on CAPEX and tooling projects, digital enablement, and process improvement, ensuring CRC is positioned to meet current operational demands and future growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Coordinate and deliver crossfunctional improvement projects across Component rebuild facilities, tooling, contamination control and operational processes.
  • Drive contamination control compliance through certification support, audits, training and continuous improvement actions.
  • Lead and support facility, tooling and CAPEX initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, capacity and cost reduction.
  • Design, maintain and automate operational reporting and dashboards using Power BI, Smartsheet, Palantir and Power Automate.
  • Identify & prioritise AI Use Cases, Lead change management, design and implementation across Operational workstreams, oversee development & deployment, governance. 
  • Support continuous improvement activities including CI initiatives, Red Card actions, A3s and process optimisation.
  • Develop and maintain process maps, quality documents, SOPs and project closeout reporting to ensure standardisation and compliance.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated experience in project coordination or continuous improvement within a workshop, manufacturing or heavy industry environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of safety, quality and compliance systems, ideally contamination control or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently in a fastpaced operational setting.
  • Experience with digital tools, including Power BI, Smartsheet, Microsoft Teams and workflow automation is highly advantageous.
  • Experience supporting facility, tooling or infrastructure improvement and CAPEX projects is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills with the ability to translate data into actionable outcomes.
