About the role

 

To support growing customer demand, WesTrac is seeking an experienced product/sales manager to join the team in the newly created role of Product Manager – Technology & Decarbonisation.

 

This role will be the central point of contact for technology products, partnering closely with Caterpillar to stay across product enhancements, new offerings and to ensure quick resolution for any technology product issues. In addition, this role will oversee emission lowering and decarbonisation projects for our customers to help them meet their stated carbon reduction goals.

This position is based from WesTrac’s Tomago Head Office and will have one direct report.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Own the sales strategy and develop compelling value propositions for each product within the Cat technology suite (Minestar)
  • Be a conduit between Caterpillar, the Resource Industries Team and Customers in relation to technology and decarbonisation options.
  • Collaborate with customers and members of the broader sales team to build decarbonisation strategies for our customers.
  • Liaise with sales team to provide front line sales representatives with key information on technology product offerings and share knowledge on emission reduction strategies.

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualification in either an engineering or similar, with 7-10 years post qualification experience in sales and/or product management or relevant trade qualification plus 10 years post trade experience.
  • Well developed understanding of mining technology products and their application
  • Relevant experience in sales and/or product management in heavy equipment
  • Knowledge of low emission technology strategies for mobile plant equipment
  • Experience with mining operational practices
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership/ supervisory experience is desirable
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills and ability to navigate uncertainty
  • Advanced organisational skills with proven ability to manage fluctuating workloads and a diverse group of stakeholders
