WesTrac is experiencing continuous growth and is on the lookout for a meticulous and dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our New Machines workshop team in Tomago. This pivotal role ensures the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction for our new machine deliveries.
As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in the construction of brand-new CAT assets, including 301.8 excavators, Off-Highway Trucks (OHTs), and Dozers. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be essential in maintaining top-notch workmanship in a safety-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct new machine build, paint and warranty inspections before and after machine delivery.
- Identify, document and rectify machine defects.
- Prepare detailed reports and manage customer-facing interactions.
- Travel as required for on-site inspections and customer meetings.
- Utilise CAT Inspect, SIS, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Audit build books to ensure compliance with company standards and customer specifications (DPOs).
- Conduct CAT WMS inspections (undercarriage inspections).
- Document machine compliance for DPO customer books.
- Participate in machine start-up meetings.
- Assist technicians with machine-related technical questions and documentation.
What we're looking for
- Trade Qualified-Boilermaker, Electrician, HV Mechanic, and/or Mobile Plant Technician.
- Experience with CAT equipment is essential.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in CAT Inspect, SIS, and MS Office applications is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and adapt to various work environments.
