We’re expanding our Tomago-based GCON and Rebuilds workshops and are seeking trade-qualified Plant Mechanics and Heavy Diesel Mechanics to join our high-energy teams working on world-class Caterpillar machinery across construction and large-scale mining.

Where You’ll Work

Rebuilds Workshop (Major Component & Machine Rebuilds)

Overhaul, repair, and diagnose large-scale CAT mining machinery including trucks (789, 793, 777), dozers (D10, D11), graders, drills, and auxiliary equipment.

 

GCON Workshop (General Construction)

Work on a wide range of CAT gear used across construction and mining — from routine service to breakdowns, diagnostics, and heavy maintenance.

 

Both workshops offer strong teamwork, safety-first culture, and access to the latest Caterpillar technology and systems.

 

Rosters to Suit Your Life & Career

1. Monday to Friday – Rotating Days/Nights (Both Workshops)

  • 50-hour week
  • 5D2O x2, 5N2O x2
  • GCON Hours: Day 05:30–16:00 / Night 15:00–01:30
  • Rebuilds Hours: Day 06:00–16:30 / Night 18:00–02:30

 

2. Lifestyle Roster – Work Half the Year (Rebuilds Only)

  • 5D4O, 5N4O
  • Day: 06:00–18:30
  • Night: 18:00–06:30

What We’re Looking For

  • Trade qualified Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
  • Experience with CAT machinery or heavy equipment (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and diagnostic skills
  • Commitment to safe work practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and within high-performing teams
  • Exposure to rebuild, mining or field maintenance environments is highly regarded
  • Familiarity with CAT Service Information System (SIS) is a bonus
