Plant Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Tomago Workshop

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic to become part of our high-performing team at Tomago.

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you’ll work alongside a skilled group of mechanics, apprentices, and trade assistants who specialise in civil and construction equipment. If you have a strong mechanical background and Caterpillar experience, you’ll hit the ground running.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Rebuilding machinery
  • Replacing worn or damaged parts
  • Performing warranty repairs
  • Planned maintenance on construction machines
  • ADHOC breakdown work

Roster & Remuneration

  • Monday to Friday roster – two weeks day shift, followed by two weeks night shift
  • Annual earnings: $125,000 – $160,000*
    *Rates are indicative and based on experience and competencies


What We’re Looking For

  • Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification (Caterpillar experience preferred)
  • OEM experience (highly desirable)
  • Familiarity with SIS or ET diagnostic systems
  • Strong diagnostic and repair skills
  • Excellent communication and ability to work independently
  • Current driver’s licence
