WesTrac is on the lookout for skilled Mobile Plant Mechanics, Heavy and Light Vehicle Mechanics, and Agriculture Mechanics to become part of our Rebuilds or New Machines teams at our Tomago Branch. Our expansive workshops operate around the clock, specialising in new machine assembly and comprehensive machine rebuilds.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble & fit out
- Base build new machines following caterpillar guidelines
- Strip, inspect and reassemble various Caterpillar mining machines
- Overhaul various components
- Inspect components for reusability using Caterpillar reusability guidelines
- Modifications & builds to customer specifications
- Complete modifications and upgrades to meet customer and MDG requirements
- Quality control
- Inspect, test, and adjust built machines to ensure they meet Caterpillar specifications.
- Record works complete with WesTrac’s quality control documents.
- Commitment to safety
- Maintain a strong focus on safety protocols to eliminate hazards/risk.
- Uphold a safe working environment
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Mechanical trade qualification with heavy industry experience
- Familiarity with Caterpillar surface mining equipment desirable
- Experience rebuilding mobile mining equipment desirable
- Attention to detail with ability to perform tasks to meet Caterpillar quality standards
