About the Opportunity

Join the WesTrac team as a Planner at our Tomago Hydraulics Branch. This full-time, Monday to Friday role is offered on an 18-month fixed-term basis and provides excellent opportunities for career development.

Reporting to the branch manager, the Planner will proactively manage work schedules, resources, and priorities to support the timely completion of hydraulic components, while maintaining clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders. Working closely with the Branch Manager and Workshop Supervisors, the Planner analyses workload trends and scheduling requirements to plan labour and parts resources and maintain operational efficiency during periods of varying demand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate short-term schedules and slot plans, ensuring all work is captured, prioritised, and aligned to agreed customer delivery targets
• Partner with Workshop Supervisors to balance labour capacity, forecast resource requirements, and effectively manage workload peaks and troughs
• Monitor job progress, track schedule compliance, and proactively communicate changes, delays, and revised completion dates to key stakeholders
• Generate planning reports and analyse workload, demand, and performance data to support informed operational decision-making and continuous improvement
• Collaborate with suppliers and Parts teams to ensure materials are available when required, proactively managing backorders and supply risks to minimise disruption to scheduled work
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance planning and scheduling processes, implementing effective solutions that improve efficiency and operational performance

Skills and Experience

• Previous experience in a planning role or hydraulics technical background highly desirable
• Previous exposure to hydraulics or parts coordination highly desirable
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Suite
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders and a diverse range of team members
