About the Opportunity  
WesTrac is seeking a People & Culture Business Partner join our team based from our Tomago Head Office. In this role you will proactively partner with business leaders and team members to support all stages of the employee life cycle.  
This position will support a portfolio of operational business units across NSW/ACT that consist of both trades and professional personnel. Our ideal candidate will take a values-based approach to delivering an effective and timely support service and focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.   
You will join a supportive and close-knit team of people & culture professionals who support a workforce of circa 1500 employees. 
This is a full time permanent position and on occasion some travel to regional NSW may be required. 


Key Accountabilities 
•    Provide advice on policies, procedures and industrial instruments  
•    Partner with operational leaders to support the various stages of the employee life cycle 
•    Effectively manage IR and ER matters 
•    Contribute to the delivery of the overall People & Culture strategy 
•    Uphold WesTrac’s core values of Safety, Pride, Accountability, Respect & Customer 
•    Provide coaching, support and advice to leaders on people matters
•    Support annual performance and remuneration cycles and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives 
•    Lead change management activities to support new people strategies and initiatives with a particular focus on implementing initiatives that promote engagement, diversity, and inclusion
•    Collaborate with the broader P&C team to ensure an exceptional employee experience 

 

Skills & Experience 
•    Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management 
•    Generalist experience in a large organisation ideally within a blue-collar environment 
•    Demonstrated ability to handle complex ER matters with confidence and sensitivity 
•    Experience with HRIS systems (SuccessFactors desirable but not essential) 
•    Working knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice in human resource management 
•    Outstanding communication skills with proven ability to negotiate and influence 
•    High level of problem-solving ability
