Mining Support Manager – Gunnedah Region
Drive Strategic Growth & Lead High-Impact Teams in Resource Industries
WesTrac is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Mining Support Manager to join our Resource Industries team, based in Gunnedah. This is a key leadership role responsible for strengthening customer partnerships, driving aftermarket growth, and ensuring optimal performance across our Caterpillar equipment fleet.
As a strategic leader, you will oversee a high-performing team of technical and account management professionals, delivering innovative fleet solutions that reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) and enhance operational efficiency. Your ability to influence, lead, and collaborate will be instrumental in shaping the success of our mining clients and contributing to WesTrac’s continued growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and influence aftermarket and technology sales opportunities.
- Develop and execute aftermarket sales strategies tailored to each site.
- Handle KPI reporting, issue resolution, and account disputes for assigned customers.
- Proactively manage and continuously improve fleet performance to optimise TCO.
- Review and provide feedback on customer proposal preparations.
- Negotiate aftermarket supply and service contracts at the site level.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety and alignment with our company values.
- Develop the customer site sales budget and manage the two to three-year parts, service, and solutions forecast.
- Cultivate effective relationships and influence with senior site management.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce/Engineering or similar is highly regarded.
- Experience successfully leading a sales team, ability to drive performance and accountability.
- Understanding of Heavy Mining Equipment ‘Total Cost of Ownership’ modelling coupled with Commercial experience in the mining industry.
- Proven communication, relationship development & negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Effective account management.
- Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines.
- High level of initiative and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow through with required actions
- Excellent customer service skills.
