WesTrac is on the lookout for a talented Machine Control and Guidance Technician to support our rapidly growing customer base and play a key role in delivering next‑generation technology solutions.
As part of our WesTrac Technology team, you will work with some of the world’s largest and most advanced mobile mining and construction fleets. Based out of our Tomago Head Office, this role will see you travelling throughout the region to install, commission, and support leading Caterpillar technology across both new and existing machines. This hands‑on role is perfect for someone who enjoys field work, solving complex technical problems, and working directly with customers.

About you
As a Successful candidate, you will possess the following skills:
- Mechanical and/or Electrical Trade Qualification + Certificate of Proficiency with heavy industry experience essential.
- Fleet management experience (Modular and/or Minestar Terrain Systems) desirable.
- Caterpillar experience highly regarded
- Experience with electronics and PC-based computer applications.
- Experience with global positioning systems and radio telemetry techniques.
- Pro-active approach and dedication to Safety.
- A solutions-focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Unrestricted Drivers Licence.
- Close attention to detail and ability to perform tasks to meet Caterpillar quality standards.
