  • Hourly Rates starting from $55.00+
  • Overtime Rate starting from $82.50+
  • Overtime is paid once an employee works over 50 hours

About the role:

We’re looking for problem solvers who can craft precision parts in our machine shop using Onsite machining techniques.

Reporting to our Workshop Supervisors, our Machinists Onsite Machining equipment to provide machining support to our internal workshops and external customers. This role will see you utilising your ability to interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances to ensure all components are produced to a high standard.

  • Operate line boring equipment and ID welders – Hoffman and Triangle.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and dimensional tolerances.
  • Computer Literacy skills
  • Maintain a key focus on safety.
  • Strive for customer satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with the workshop manager and other tradespeople to improve quality and job efficiency
     

About You

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and a proven track record in the heavy equipment industry. You should be reliable, hardworking, and have a strong understanding of your safety responsibilities onsite. In addition, you should also hold:

  • Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.
  • Post-trade experience in Line boring.
  • MR Drivers License Desirable or ability to obtain
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment is highly regarded.
  • Ability to maintain High standards of work with minimal Supervision
  • Ability to consistently deliver work of a high standard within set time frames and with minimal supervision.
  • Have a positive “can do” attitude with the ability and initiative to problem solve on the job.
