Laboratory Technician
About the role
Our Resources Industry Team is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join their team, on a full-time basis Monday-Friday at head office in Tomago.
Reporting to the Laboratory Team Leader, the Laboratory Technician’s role includes conducting testing, analysis and uploading results of fluid samples including oil, coolant and fuel. The successful applicant will ensure the accuracy of the data prior to the release for interpretation and analysis to ensure the customers asset has an increase in operating life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process fluid samples, including unpacking, sorting, labelling, data entry and visual inspections
- Perform analytical testing to check the accuracy of results for a range of metrics
- Data Entry and Data Validation using LIMS software
- Ensure analytical instruments are efficiently operating through calibration and maintenance
- Manage incoming customer enquiries over the phone
- Identify areas for continuous improvement for functions such as operational efficiency
Skills & Experience
- Certificate 4 in Laboratory Techniques or BSc desirable
- Proven understanding of laboratory processes and procedures
- Experience using laboratory equipment and instruments
- Developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced computer literacy skills including MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal
- Ability to work successfully in a team & individually, whilst building positive working relationships
