About the role

As part of our continued growth and expansion plans for 2025, WesTrac is seeking experienced Plant Mechanics, Heavy and Light Vehicle Mechanics, Aircraft or Agriculture Mechanics to join our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) in Tomago.

 

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role within our CRC Branch offers the opportunity to work on engines, powertrains, or final drives from a diverse range of Caterpillar machines. This role provides exposure to component maintenance, rebuilds, and the chance to receive specialised training on the job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the assembly and disassembly of engines, powertrains, and final drives.
  • Contribute to maintenance tasks and servicing procedures.
  • Ensure a safe work environment, prioritise customer satisfaction, and maintain high technician productivity.
  • Work effectively within a high-performing team to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Hold an Australian-recognised mechanical trade qualification.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices.
  • Familiarity with component change-outs and engine assembly is advantageous.
  • Experience with Caterpillar surface mining equipment (desirable).
  • Solutions focused mindset and ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Collaborative and able to work well within a team.
  • High Risk Work Licenses for Forklift and Dogging is desirable.
  • Unrestricted Driver’s License.
