About the Opportunity

WesTrac is looking for an experienced Estimator to join our Tomago Hydraulics Workshop, supporting the overhaul and refurbishment of critical hydraulic components used across our Caterpillar fleet. This is a hands‑on, embedded role where you will work in conjunction with the workshop personnel to develop accurate, timely estimates for Hydraulic components  that keep equipment moving.

With a steady pipeline supporting both WesTrac operations and external customers across NSW and the ACT, this role offers long‑term stability and real impact—ideal for someone with a mechanical or hydraulics background who values accuracy, collaboration and outcomes over tender chasing.

Key responsibilities

  • Liaise with Workshop Supervisors, trades and internal stakeholders to clarify work requirements
  • Ensure estimates align with pricing structures, labour allowances and parts availability
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within estimating and ERP systems
  • Support continuous improvement in estimating accuracy, turnaround times and processes

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in an Estimator, Planner or similar role within a workshop, mining or heavy equipment environment
  • Mechanical aptitude: hydraulics experience (highly regarded)
  • Ability to interpret technical information, inspection reports and scopes of work (highly regarded)
  • High attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Confident communicator able to work effectively with trades and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
