About the WesTrac Component Technician Program

Looking for an alternative to an apprenticeship? Our Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) in Tomago is opening applications for motivated individuals to join a structured 2year program blending handson learning with formal accredited trainingall while being paid full-time.

As a WesTrac Component Technician, you will learn how to:

  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of engines and powertrains
  • Support rebuild activities that keep our customers operating
  • Maintain safe work practices at all times
  • Collaborate with your crew to meet deadlines and deliver high‑quality results

About you:

  • Must be 18 years or older by December 2026
  • Australian working rights (Citizen or Permanent Resident)
  • Strong communication, reading and writing skills
  • Genuine interest in mechanical trades, machinery or hands-on learning
  • Driver’s licence and reliable transport (or close to obtaining one) with ability to travel to work and training
  • Honest, reliable and dependable
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
