Are you ready to make a difference and implement key strategies within our MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Category? We’re currently seeking a dynamic Category Specialist to join our team and be a pivotal part of our Procurement Transformation Programme!

 

Based in Tomago NSW, but with responsibility across both NSW/ACT and WA, this role is focussed on achieving great commercial outcomes and boosting efficiency in high-volume procurement.

Location: Tomago, NSW (with opportunity to work remotely two days per week)

Roster: Monday - Friday, 8.5-hour days

 

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain a strategic overview of industry trends and market factors
  • Monitor and review contract performance, including KPIs
  • Lead strategic planning and prepare procurement documentation
  • Develop procurement strategies and manage contract life cycles
  • Ensure contract compliance and resolve issues with vendors
  • Evaluate vendor performance and provide recommendations

 

To be successful the following is required:

  • A tertiary qualification in the areas of Procurement, Supply Chain, Category Management or relevant discipline is seen as advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience in a mining, construction, forestry, infrastructure assets, manufacturing, engineering, or a related industry
  • Proven experience in contracts (full contract lifecycle), procurement, compliance and quality environments
  • An understanding of advanced contracting and sourcing concepts
  • High attention to detail, ability to analyse problems and provide appropriate solutions to mitigate commercial risk and improve value to the business
  • Ability to work successfully within both a team and autonomously
  • Previous exposure to SAP ARIBA or a similar ERP system
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
