About the Opportunity

WesTrac is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Manager to join our Resources Industries (RI) team. Reporting to the RI Sales Support Manager, this role is responsible for driving parts sales growth across NSW and ACT, with a focus on developing strategic sales initiatives, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying new market opportunities.

Working closely with branch teams, sales representatives, customers and Caterpillar stakeholders, you will develop and implement growth strategies that enhance customer outcomes while increasing market share and profitability. You will act as a subject matter expert within your assigned industry focus area, providing valuable market insights, commercial guidance and support to internal stakeholders and customers alike.

Key responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement strategic sales and service plans to grow aftermarket parts sales across NSW and ACT.
  • Identify and convert new business opportunities while supporting existing customer partnerships.
  • Provide industry expertise, technical guidance and commercial support to customers and sales teams.
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar and internal stakeholders to introduce innovative products, components and service solutions.
  • Develop competitive pricing strategies that maximise sales opportunities and protect margins.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the sales function.

 

Skills and Experience 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a business development, sales or account management role within mining, construction, civil or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of customer markets across NSW and ACT, with the ability to build and maintain high-value relationships.
  • Proven commercial acumen and ability to identify, develop and execute growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, project management and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to influence outcomes and deliver results.
  • Experience with powertrain, hydraulics and major machine component product groups, including their application, maintenance requirements and aftermarket opportunities is highly desirable.
