Boilermaker – Track Shop | Tomago

Join our Tomago Track Shop and become part of a highly skilled team specialising in track repairs, and refurbishment of Caterpillar undercarriage systems. If you’re a qualified Boilermaker who enjoys hands‑on work, precision welding, and contributing to the performance of world‑class machinery, this is the role for you.

Our Track Shop delivers comprehensive, high‑quality repairs and rebuilds including track reseals, repairs, grouser relugging, idler rebuilding, track shoe removal, hard face welding and full track group refurbishments. With extensive expertise in CAT undercarriage systems, our team consistently delivers work that reduces downtime, extends component life, and improves efficiency for our customers.

 

Roster & Hours

  • Two weeks of day shift, followed by two weeks of night shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Regular overtime available

This 48hr rotating roster offers stability, excellent work–life balance, and the opportunity to boost your earnings.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Completing repairs and refurbishment on track groups from dozers & excavators
  • Operating state of the art modern robotic welding systems
  • Removing, replacing, and fitting track shoes and related components
  • Performing welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks to OEM standards
  • Inspecting components, identifying wear or damage, and recommending required repairs
  • Maintaining a safe, organised workspace and following WesTrac safety procedures
  • Working as part of a supportive team focused on quality and efficiency

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Australian‑recognised Boilermaker trade qualification
  • Experience with track groups, undercarriage systems, heavy machinery, or similar fabrication work (highly regarded)
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • A safety‑driven approach and willingness to contribute to team outcomes
  • A positive attitude and desire to grow your skills
