The Opportunity
- Roster: Two weeks dayshift, two weeks nightshift – 48 hour week
- Early finish on Friday
- Hourly rates from $50+ | Overtime rates from $76+ (rates are a guide; each candidate will be assessed on skill and experience)
WesTrac’s purpose-built Machine Shop in Tomago is seeking an experienced Boilermaker with a strong background in heavy fabrication to join our team.
In this workshop-based role, you’ll be responsible for the repair and refurbishment of Caterpillar components and parts. You will work on items such as hydraulic components (hydraulic cylinder barrels and rods), track frames, undercarriage components, loader arms, frames and other structural parts, restoring them to “like-new” condition for reinstallation on mobile plant equipment.
You’ll be part of a large, skilled team of over 40 tradespeople, including First Class Machinists, Boilermakers, and Trades Assistants. Our 2,000m² facility is equipped with more than 20 robotic and manual machines, supporting both CNC and traditional fabrication tasks.
We’re looking for candidates with:
- Cert III Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Australian recognised)
- Proven experience in heavy structural welding and fabrication
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow repair specifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
- Demonstrated experience in a workshop-based role
- Advanced technical skill in precision welding (applicants may be weld tested in the pre-employment process)
