About the Role
WesTrac is currently seeking skilled Boilermakers to join our Rebuilds team at our Tomago Branch.
Reporting to the workshop supervisor, your role will be crucial in maintaining and repairing Off-Highway Trucks (OHTs), Dozers, Graders, and Drills, including models 789, 793, 777, D10, and D11, as well as some auxiliary equipment.
The ideal candidates should be able to read and interpret plans and blueprints, as well as have excellent communication skills. Furthermore, candidates must possess strong attention to detail, be reliable, and work with a team-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform carbon and air arc gouging - 3XP.
- Conduct UT (Ultrasonic Testing).
- Undertake rust repairs, panel work, as well as chassis and crack repairs.
- Execute work on radius corners.
- Operate within 14 bays and an outside PAD, with one dedicated Boilermaker Bay.
Rosters and Remuneration!
- Monday - Friday (50 Hour week + rotating days/nights)
- Roster Pattern: 5D2O x2 5N2O x2
- Day shift: 06:00-16:30 & Night shift: 18:00-02:30
- Annual earnings UP TO $145k + Super + OT

Skills & Experience
- Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication (Australian Trade recognised).
- Experience in OXY/Thermal processes: cutting, heating, and thermal lancing.
- Carbon arc gouging experience.
- Proficient in MIG welding (multiple wire applications needed).
- Experience in mobile plant repairs will be highly regarded.
- Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements.
- Safety-focused mindset.
- Able to read, interpret, and manufacture from engineering drawings.
