About the role 

WesTrac is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our new machines workshop as a Team Leader. This newly created role will see you focus on leading the fabrication work for New Machine Assembly and coordinating contractors to ensure outstanding quality of work and that project timelines are adhered to.

 

Roster and Remuneration

  • Roster Pattern: Monday to Friday - 2 weeks of days, followed by 2 weeks of nights.
  • Day shift: 0600-1630 & Night shift: 1600-0230
  • Annual earnings from $143,000+

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing fabrication hours on new machine builds
  • Delegating tasks to boilermakers
  • Ensuring WesTrac and Caterpillar quality and safety standards are met
  • Providing updates/ reporting on variations to projects and impacts to timelines
  • Steel and welding consumable stock taking
  • Various welding/fab tasks for new machine builds

 

Skills and Experience 

  • Cert III in Engineering – Fabrication
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Post trade experience in heavy fabrication – experience in mobile plant assembly and/or repair is highly desirable
  • Able to read, interpret and manufacture from engineering drawings
