Auto Electrician – Workshop | Great Rates + Career Growth

We are seeking qualified Auto Electricians to join our Rebuilds Workshop team in Tomago. In this role, you will contribute to the build and rebuild of heavy CAT mobile plant equipment, delivering safe, high‑quality machine outcomes as part of a dedicated team.
You will be responsible for diagnosing faults, overhauling, repairing and installing auto electrical systems across a range of surface mining equipment. This includes working on CAT Off‑Highway Trucks (OHTs), Dozers, Graders and Drills.
The position offers exposure to modern equipment and a variety of complex auto electrical systems, along with long‑term job security in one of Australia’s leading heavy equipment organisations.

- Hourly rates FROM $55/hr to $57/hr & $82/hr to $86/hr overtime.

What We’re Looking For
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrotechnology (or equivalent)
- Experience with heavy equipment maintenance like graders, off-highway trucks, dozers, surface drills & auxiliary
equipment. - Mining, rebuild or diagnostics exposure. (Highly regarded)
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with CAT equipment, specifically using CAT Service information system (SIS) seen as highly advantageous.
- Safety‑focused mindset and the ability to follow WesTrac safety procedures
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Roster Options
We offer a roster that suits your lifestyle and long-term career goals:
1. Monday to Friday – Rotating Days/Nights
- 50-hour week
- Roster: 5D2O x2, 5N2O x2
- Day: 06:00–16:30 / Afternoon: 16:00–02:30
2. Lifestyle Roster – Work Only Half the Year
- Work 15 days out of every 28
- Roster: 5D4O, 5N4O
- Day: 06:00–18:30 \ Night: 18:00–06:30
