WesTrac is seeking skilled Auto Electricians to join our General Workshop teams in Tomago. Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, these roles will see you working across our Rebuilds or New Machines branches. You will gain exposure to a range of auto electrical systems and components, utilising your technical expertise to diagnose faults, perform essential repairs or commission new CAT equipment.
An Auto Electrical role with WesTrac will give you the opportunity to work on Off-Highway Trucks (OHTs), Dozers, Graders, Drills, and some auxiliary equipment
Key Responsibilities:
- Commission, diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults on Caterpillar mining equipment.
- Replace and secure OEM and DPO harnesses, ensuring full MDG compliance.
- Conduct inspections and upgrade electrical systems to meet specifications.
- Ensure all electrical work aligns with MDG standards and internal quality benchmarks.
- Accurately document work performed, including detailed handovers and parts usage.
- Maintain strict safety protocols to ensure a safe and incident-free work environment.
Skills & Experience
- Certificate III in Automotive Electrotechnology (Australian recognised) with industry experience.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar or similar brand surface mining equipment is essential.
- Experience with Auto Electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
- Dedicated to maintaining safe work practices and environment.
- Highly organised with the ability to adapt to changing workloads.
