About the Role
Reporting to the Fleet Performance Manager, the Asset Health Manager will lead the development and execution of asset health strategies that enhance equipment availability and lifecycle performance for customer fleets.
You will work collaboratively with customers, technical specialists, product support teams, and operational stakeholders to analyse fleet performance condition monitoring data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement proactive maintenance and availability initiatives.
This role combines technical expertise, strategic thinking, internal & external customer relationship management, and team leadership to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead WesTrac's Asset Health function, driving proactive fleet performance strategies that improve equipment availability and lifecycle value.
- Analyse condition monitoring, utilisation, and performance data to identify trends, mitigate risk, and optimise customer fleet outcomes.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to develop and execute asset management plans aligned to operational and business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce unplanned downtime, improve maintenance effectiveness, and maximise asset lifecycle.
- Lead an operational customer focused oil laboratory to identify anomalies that prevent customer fleet
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of Asset Health professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Deliver strategic recommendations and executive-level reporting on fleet health, leveraging Caterpillar technology and industry best practice.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in Asset Health, Reliability Engineering, Condition Monitoring, Fleet Management, Maintenance, Product Support, or a related heavy industry environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of heavy mobile equipment, mining or construction fleets, and associated maintenance and reliability practices.
- Proven ability to interpret equipment health and performance data and translate insights into measurable operational improvements.
- Sound understanding of condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, reliability principles, and asset management frameworks.
- Demonstrated knowledge of scheduled oil sampling laboratory operations.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence customers and cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Reliability, Asset Management, or a related discipline.
