About the Opportunity
WesTrac is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Supervisor to join our finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for leading a team of accounting professionals while ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of financial reporting, compliance obligations and accounting processes across the business.
As a key member of the finance function, you will provide technical accounting expertise, support business decision-making through accurate financial information, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accomplished accounting professional looking to further develop their leadership capabilities within a large and successful organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals to achieve team and business objectives.
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting processes and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies and statutory obligations.
- Review financial reconciliations, journals and reporting to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis activities.
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to optimise finance operations and controls.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a senior accounting, finance or supervisory role.
- CPA or CA qualification
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop teams.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Experience working within a large, complex or multi-site organisation will be highly regarded.
