Your new role as a workshop Plant Mechanic will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent full time FIFO position based in Tom Price.

 

This role is based at Rio Tinto’s Ancillary Equipment Shutdown workshop and requires high level personnel that can operate with minimal supervision from both WesTrac & Rio Tinto.

 

The Plant Mechanic is responsible for carrying scheduled maintenance, service and repairs including diagnosing all Caterpillar machines.

 

Location: Tom Price – Accommodation in Rio Tinto Tom Price Camp

 

Roster: 2/1 (7D/7N/7O) – 12.5 hrs each day (inc. of 30 minutes meal break)

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Component replacements
  • Hydraulic tunes/performance tests post shut
  • Fault finding of Hydraulic & electrical issues if they arise
  • Updating ECM’s with latest software/config files

 

Skills & Experience: 

  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Australian recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology trade certificate with post trade experience.
  • High Risk Work Licence
  • Strong computer literacy with verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in maintenance servicing of heavy equipment (mobile plant / ancillary).
  • Excellent customer service and safety focused.
  • Confident to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team.
