As a Field Service Plant Mechanic, you’ll take on a dynamic mix of diagnostics, repairs, and on‑site support across some of the Pilbara’s most significant mining operations.
Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, this position offers the independence, variety, and hands‑on experience that skilled CAT technicians thrive on—while working with one of the world’s most trusted and respected Cat® dealers.

The Tom Price Branch sits at the heart of WesTrac’s Pilbara operations, providing crucial frontline support to keep the region’s heavy‑hitting mining machinery moving.
Our team delivers fast, expert solutions across multiple sites, ensuring production‑critical equipment stays operational and efficient.
You’ll be joining a tight‑knit, highly capable crew backed by industry‑leading systems, a strong safety culture, and the full knowledge base of WesTrac’s national CAT network.

Roster Options

• 14 Days On / 7 Days Off
• 14 Days On / 14 Days Off
• 12 Days On / 9 Days Off
• 12.5‑hour shifts (30‑minute unpaid meal break)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carry out warranty and customer repairs on CAT machinery in the field
• Deliver hands‑on field service support across Tom Price and surrounding sites
• Work on iconic CAT equipment including:
  D10 & D11 Dozers, 992 Wheel Loaders, 24M Graders, and 777F–793F Trucks
• Diagnose faults, plan repairs, and execute work safely and efficiently
• Work both autonomously and collaboratively in a safety‑first team environment

What You’ll Need

• 5+ years experience of Field Service on CAT equipment
• ‘LR’ Class Drivers License
• HRWL – Forklift, Dogging & Basic Rigging
• High level of Autonomy, Accountability and Communication skills
• Strong Diagnostics skills
