Reporting into Field Service Supervisor, the Field Service Heavy Diesel Mechanic will join our Regional Team on a FIFO basis at our Tom Price branch. This role involves carrying out warranty and customer repairs on a range of CAT machinery and associated products in a timely and efficient manner. You will also be required to carry out field service work on a regular basis based out of Tom Price Branch. The variety of equipment you will be working on includes D10 and D11 Dozers, 992 Wheel Loaders, 24M Graders, and a wide range of models of Off Highway Trucks (777F - 793F). This work will be completed in a collaborative, team environment with a strong focus on safety

 

Department Overview: BHP Area C which is an iron ore mine located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 120 km north-west of Newman operating since 2003

 

Roster: 

14 On, 7 Off – Days 10 hrs/day OR

12 On, 9 Off – Days 10 hrs/day OR 

14 On, 14 Off – Days 12 hrs/day

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform warranty and customer repairs on CAT machinery.
  • Conduct regular field service work from Tom Price Branch.
  • Work on equipment including Dozers, Loaders, Graders, and Trucks.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently in a team environment.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Australian Recognised Heavy-Duty Trade Certificate with post-trade experience
  • Prior Field Service or Regional Minesite experience maintaining similar fleet type
  • Truck Licence – Min. LR, HR/MR preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
  • Heavy equipment product knowledge – Component change out experience (desired)
