As a Field Service Plant Mechanic, you’ll report to the Field Service Supervisor and join WesTrac’s high‑performing Regional FIFO team based out of Tom Price. This role is ideal for experienced CAT mechanics who want variety, autonomy, and exposure to flagship equipment while working with one of the most respected dealers in the world.

Department Overview

The Tom Price Branch plays a critical role in keeping the Pilbara moving. Our team delivers on‑site, frontline CAT support to some of the region’s largest mining operations.  You’ll be trusted to diagnose, repair, and keep production‑critical machines running, where your decisions and skills genuinely matter.

You’ll be supported by a tight‑knit team, strong systems, and the backing of WesTrac’s national CAT expertise.

Roster Options

• 14 Days On / 7 Days Off
• 14 Days On / 14 Days Off
• 12 Days On / 9 Days Off
• 12.5‑hour shifts (30‑minute unpaid meal break)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Carry out warranty and customer repairs on CAT machinery in the field
• Deliver hands‑on field service support across Tom Price and surrounding sites
• Work on iconic CAT equipment including:
  D10 & D11 Dozers, 992 Wheel Loaders, 24M Graders, and 777F–793F Trucks
• Diagnose faults, plan repairs, and execute work safely and efficiently
• Work both autonomously and collaboratively in a safety‑first team environment
