About the Opportunity

If you’re an experienced Plant Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Technician looking for handson workshop work, predictable hours, and longterm career security this role delivers.

We’re seeking a skilled Workshop Plant Mechanic to join our Tamworth team, maintaining and rebuilding a broad range of Caterpillar machinery in a modern, wellequipped workshop environment.

This is a permanent, Monday to Friday day‑shift role — ideal if you want to stay local, sleep in your own bed, and still work with industry‑leading equipment.

What you’ll do

  • Diagnose, service, repair and rebuild CAT® earthmoving and construction equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and major overhauls in a workshop setting
  • Use OEM diagnostic tools and systems to identify faults efficiently
  • Maintain high safety, quality and housekeeping standards
  • Work alongside a supportive, highly experienced workshop team

 

What you’ll bring

  • Trade qualified Plant Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Cert III or equivalent)
  • Experience working on mobile plant or heavy equipment
  • CAT® or other OEM experience highly regarded
  • Strong faultfinding and diagnostic skills
  • Australian recognised trade certificate & transcripts
  • Current Australian driver’s licence
  • Teamfocused attitude with pride in quality workmanship
