About the opportunity

Are you a solutionsdriven technical professional looking to take the next step in your career? Were seeking a highly capable and motivated Technical Representative to join our Equipment Management Solutions team based in Tomago.

 

In this pivotal role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Caterpillar equipment, providing highquality technical guidance to customers, dealer personnel, and internal stakeholders. You will investigate complex product issues, analyse equipment performance, and collaborate closely with Caterpillar Engineering to deliver fast, effective solutions that keep our customers assets performing at their best.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Investigate product performance issues related to service, engineering, and machine operation
  • Conduct failure analysis on components, identify root causes, and recommend effective solutions
  • Provide clear, high‑quality technical information to support operational decision‑making
  • Collaborate with Caterpillar Engineering Groups to ensure timely and effective resolutions
  • Contribute to maintaining Caterpillar’s market leadership for performance and reliability

 

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and building strong working relationships.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or trade qualification with 10+ years CAT dealer experience
  • Strong knowledge of CAT diagnostic tools
  • Proficient with CAT information systems
  • Demonstrated component failure analysis expertise
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong customer service capability and ability to build productive relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills
  • Able to work both independently and within a high‑performing team
  • High attention to detail, continuous improvement mindset, and a current NSW driver’s licence

 

Desirable: Experience with Electronic Technician software, VIMS, VisionLink, SIS‑Web, and CAT‑CWS.
