About the role 

WesTrac is seeking an experienced Product Specialist to join our team based in Tomago. 

In this role, you’ll take ownership of product market introduction, assessing product suitability, developing pricing strategies, and leading promotional initiatives in close collaboration with our sales and marketing teams. 

This is an excellent opportunity to build a long‑term career with WesTrac, offering stability, growth, and exposure to multiple areas of the business. You’ll play a key role in shaping product strategies, driving sales performance, and supporting ongoing technical development across the organisation. 

This is a full‑time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm (40 hours per week). 

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Provide Business Development leadership, advice, and support to the sales team.  

  • Develop and implement sales strategies utilising the 4P’s of marketing for new product positioning. 

  • Develop and implement technical training and support for the sales team.  

  • Manage the Machine consist of and stocking strategy.  

  • Effectively manage the relationships with respective Caterpillar contacts  

  • Monitor market share, sales activity and PIN results and report to management on a regular basis.  

 

Skills & Experience  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Marketing, Commerce, Finance, Business, or a technically related discipline.  

  • Minimum 8 years post-graduation experience in a sales and product focussed role.  

  • Strong understanding of Product Management  

  • Comprehensive understanding of the Construction market, or the ability to adapt quickly. 

  • Strong commercial and business acumen 

  • Sound understanding of effective sales strategy development.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • High attention to detail  

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills  

  • Ability to work successfully with a team and autonomously.  

  • Highly analytical with the ability to analyse data efficiently.  

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships throughout the business.
