Join WesTrac as a Field Service Plant Mechanic – Marine & Industrial Specialist

Are you passionate about CAT machinery and looking to take your career into a more specialised and high‑impact field? WesTrac is seeking an experienced Field Service Plant Mechanic to join our Casula team, focusing on marine and industrial power systems.

In this unique role, you’ll work on a diverse range of equipment - from marine engines powering commercial vessels to critical generators supporting hospitals, data centres, and major retail operations. Your expertise will help keep essential services running and ensure our customers have reliable power when they need it most.

Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will take ownership of onsite repairs, diagnostics and maintenance across a broad customer base, delivering high‑quality service with the autonomy and technical challenge field service offers.


Roster Options

  • Day shift only – Monday to Friday, 10.5 hour days.
  • Phone, laptop and tool of trade vehicle supplied
  • Annual earnings $135,000 to $170,000*

*Above rates are a guide; each candidate will be assessed on skill and experience

Skills & Experience

  • Strong technical and diagnostic skills with an Australian Recognised Mechanical Trade (Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant)
  • A genuine passion for CAT equipment and delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining safety and compliance.
  • Excellent attitude to your work, and dedication to safe work practices
  • Ability to work autonomously in the field and in a team
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Applicants with site bans are ineligible for Field Service Positions
