About the Role

 

As a Plant Mechanic at Ravensworth, you'll work alongside a skilled maintenance team responsible for maximising equipment reliability, safety and availability across a world-class mining operation. WesTrac supports Hunter Valley mine sites including Ravensworth through dedicated site-based maintenance teams focused on Caterpillar equipment performance.

 

Whether your experience comes from mining, earthmoving, construction, agriculture or heavy vehicles, this is your opportunity to build a career working with Caterpillar technology and some of the industry's most recognised mining equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing CAT® mobile mining equipment.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
  • Completing breakdown repairs and component replacements.
  • Utilising CAT diagnostic systems and technologies.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping.
  • Supporting fleet reliability and production outcomes.

 

Skills and Experience

 

To succeed in this role, you'll have:

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trade Qualification (COP highly regarded).
  • Experience working on heavy mobile equipment.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capability.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Current Driver's Licence.

 

Highly Desirable

  • CAT equipment experience.
  • Surface mining experience.
  • Working at Heights.
  • MDG25.
  • Current mining inductions.
