PLANT MECHANIC – ELECTRIC DRIVE OFF HIGHWAY TRUCKS
 

WesTrac is seeking skilled Plant Mechanics to join our team as part of the newly formed 794AC Electric Drive Off Highway Truck team.  These specialised roles will play a key role in the end-to-end assembly, delivery, commissioning and maintenance of the largest fleet of Caterpillar Electric Drive Trucks in NSW. This project is a great opportunity to play a key role in the Caterpillar electric drive transition.

Kicking off in our Tomago New Machines workshop, you will be hands on in the machine build phase, building ten of these machines, before transitioning to an onsite support role. This will see you following the machine delivery to ensure machine reliability with maximum uptime and efficiency for the customer. After Machine build, the onsite support role will see you based at our customer’s Hunter Valley mine site located 15 minutes from Singleton.

Skills & Experience

  • Cert III Mobile Plant Technology
  • Certificate of Proficiency (can be obtained during the recruitment process if required)
  • Maintenance experience on electric drive machines (desirable) 
  • Proven diagnostic capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills
