  • Potential earnings $145k-$180k+ super guide only
  • Roster Options: (DAY SHIFT ONLY) 5D 2O, M-F 10-Hour Shifts | 4D 3O, 12- Hour Shifts (no weekends)
  • Site-specific incentive schemes available at eligible locations

 

The Opportunity

In response to the introduction of MD6250 Cat rotary drills to our major mining client, WesTrac have multiple Drill Technician vacancies available across several business units in the Hunter Valley region.

 

This role will see you taking the lead on mechanical elements of the drill assembly, commissioning, machine maintenance and Cat warranty program, harnessing your expertise at each stage of the project.

 

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate will have advanced mechanical skills, with demonstrated experience in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing large-scale rotary drills. Experience with CAT SIS and CAT ET for digital troubleshooting will be highly regarded.  

 

To succeed in this role you will be a confident communicator as you will be a key point of contact for client-facing matters. You will actively contribute to sharing knowledge and providing support to our client. 

 

Skills & Experience

  • Drill, Mobile Plant or Heavy Vehicle Trade Qualification & COP (Australian Trade Recognised)
  • Drill maintenance and repair experience in mining
  • Working at heights (desirable)
  • MDG25 (desirable)
  • Experience with Caterpillar equipment + diagnostic tools desirable
  • Strong job planning skills
