About the Role

 

WesTrac is currently seeking an experienced Drills and Digger Specialist to join our team and be based onsite at Ravensworth Open Cut. 

 

Reporting to the Mining Support Manager, the Drills and Digger Specialist plays a pivotal role in maximising the customers return on their fleet investments by providing technical support, advice on equipment optimisation and analysing fleet performance data to drive improvements in overall asset performance. This role will support a fleet consisting of drills and hydraulic mining shovels (HMS). 

 

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Provide technical support and advice on Drills and HMS
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment faults and working with the field service team to provide support to the customer
  • Utilise fleet performance data to proactively drive improvement in asset performance
  • Carry out wear management inspections
  • Regular report generation as required
  • Working with customers on resolution of unplanned downtime to ensure timely resolution
  • Identify sales opportunities and communicate these to the Mining Support Representative for actioning
  • Monitor and review maintenance and operational practices and technology applications that impact machine performance and make recommendations for improvement to reduce cost for the customer 
  • Manage product updates 

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Advanced interpersonal skills with proven customer service and relationship management skills
  • Mechanical or electrical trade qualification 
  • Experience maintaining Caterpillar drills and diggers
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment faults and recommend solutions
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • High level of initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Well-developed ability to analyse asset health and performance data and compile reports
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar programs such as SIS and ET
