Workshop Plant Mechanic

Your new role as a workshop Plant Mechanic will report to the Workshop Supervisor in a permanent full-time position based in Port Hedland. In this role, you will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance, servicing, and repairs on Caterpillar machinery, including diagnosing faults and ensuring optimal performance across all equipment.

Roster Options:
- FIFO from Perth: 2/1, 2/2, or 12/9 (10.5 hrs/day including meal break)
- Residential: 10/4 (10.5 hrs/day including meal break)
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct scheduled and daily maintenance on mobile mining and ancillary plant equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of lubricants and machine hours.
- Diagnose faults and complete service reports using CAT Inspect.
- Support tradespersons during maintenance processes.
- Operate forklifts and implement product improvement plans.
Skills & Experience:
- Australian Driver’s Licence – Light Rigid or Medium Rigid.
- Australian Recognised Heavy Mobile Plant Technology trade certificate with post-trade experience.
- Valid High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (FL), Dogging (DG), Rigging (RG), Working at Heights (WAH), Confined Spaces (CSE).
- Strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills.
- Proven experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
- Safety-focused, customer-oriented, and confident working autonomously or in a team.
