Workshop Supervisor
Perth Precinct, WA, AU
Reporting to the Area Manager - FlexiParts and Mining Services, the Workshop Supervisor will play a pivotal role in leading our experienced team of plant mechanics and our ancillary team. This position requires someone who can provide clear guidance and support to ensure that safety, quality, and efficiency are upheld to the highest standards, resulting in exceptional customer satisfaction. As part of the CAT dealership you will mentor, motivate and develop your team while continuing to build strong relationships and maintain a strong positive culture.
Roster: Mon – Fri 6am – 4:30pm (including unpaid meal breaks)
Location: Perth Precinct, WA
What you’ll do:
- Lead and supervise a team of 25, including Plant Mechanics, Spray Painters NDT Technicians and Sand Blasters
 - Ensure high standards of safety, quality, and service delivery across all workshop operations
 - Oversee the day-to-day coordination of workshop activities at the floor level while maintaining KPIs.
 - Work alongside our Workshop Planner to deliver to manage workflow outcomes for the customer
 - Monitor and report on safety metrics, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards
 - Provide hands-on training and upskilling opportunities to support team development
 - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
 - Collaborate with the Area Manager to align workshop performance with business goals
 
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years post-trade experience in a relevant discipline (e.g., mechanical, fabrication, painting)
 - Proven leadership experience, ideally in a workshop or industrial environment, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
 - Strong communication skills to effectively guide staff, resolve issues, and liaise with internal stakeholders
 - Solid understanding of workshop operations and business processes, including safety, quality, and service delivery
 - High level of computer competency, with experience managing daily tasks and reporting through digital systems
 - Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to adapt to changing demands and make sound decisions under pressure
 - Creative problem-solving mindset, with a willingness to think outside the box to improve efficiency and outcomes
