Technology Service Operations Manager

Reporting to the General Manager Business Development and FlexiParts, the Technology Operations Manager is accountable for managing the safety, efficiency, quality of service, and performance of service operations allocated to the Technology group and Technology support contracts. The role oversees a team of 5 direct reports and 174 indirect reports, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service across all operational areas.

 

 

Roster:  Monday – Friday, 8.5Hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: Perth Precinct, WA

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage the safety, efficiency, service quality, and performance of all field, workshop and warehouse operations within the Technology group and support contracts
  • Lead and support a team of 5 direct reports and 174 indirect reports across various operational functions
  • Drive financial performance of the operations team, including parts and service sales, WIP management, labour productivity, rework, and policy cost control
  • Ensure high-quality MineStar technology product support services to WesTrac customers
  • Liaise with senior management and business partners to develop business plans and annual budgets in line with corporate strategy
  • Grow technician and leader capability and capacity through application of WesTrac Institute programs, and individual development plans
  • Engage regularly with customers to assess customer experience including travel as required to customer site, and implementation of improvement opportunities
  • Liaise with MineStar Technology Business Development, Deployment & Support teams to meet market demand and company strategic targets

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Essential tertiary or trade qualification (mechanical or engineering), with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in service operations, mobile equipment management, or contract service environments
  • Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience managing large, diverse teams across field operations, with a proven ability to inspire, develop, and lead high-performing technical teams
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing strategic actions to manage operational performance including labour productivity, service quality, cost control, WIP management and continuous improvement
  • Solid understanding of workplace health and safety legislation and its practical application in field-based operations
  • Proven commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, driving financial performance, and delivering on service and parts revenue targets
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining successful customer relationships
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal—with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external customers
  • Exceptional time management, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet operational objectives
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and implement effective solutions
