Technology Project Engineer
Perth Precinct, WA, AU
Reporting to the Project Engineering Supervisor, the MineStar Project Engineer leads the development of the Minestar technology solution for our customers. . From concept initiation through execution and closure, they develop necessary documentation and artifacts, ensuring compliance with Caterpillar recommended standard practices, schedule, and risk management.
Roster: Mon – Fri 8.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)
Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport, WA)
What you’ll do:
- Lead and coordinate client technology engineering solutions from concept to completion
- Develop and maintain project documentation to ensure compliance with Caterpiller standard practice, schedule, and risk standards
- Participate in planning meetings with Service Operations and project teams to align activities and timelines
- Support technology proposals and deployments by preparing initial specifications and technical documentation
- Manage engineering deliverables with a focus on quality and compliance throughout execution
- Contribute to technical aspects of project closeout, including final reviews and documentation
- Promote continuous improvement across engineering processes and project delivery
- Audit and inspect heavy machinery to determine technology fit
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant formal tertiary or trade qualification (e.g., mechanical, electrical, electronic); OR significant industry experience
- Ability to engage with the broader team to solve complex problems
- Mine site operational experience desired but not essential
- Experience deploying technology in heavy equipment industries
- Issue resolution and risk mitigation skills
- Customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills to manage deadlines and conflicting priorities
- Experience with Autocad or similar desirable.
- Experience with heavy machinery and ability to interpret electrical schematic for this machinery
- Basic understanding of networking architecture
