Technology Project Engineer

Reporting to the Project Engineering Supervisor, the MineStar Project Engineer leads the development of the Minestar technology solution for our customers. . From concept initiation through execution and closure, they develop necessary documentation and artifacts, ensuring compliance with Caterpillar recommended standard practices, schedule, and risk management.

 

 

Roster:  Mon – Fri 8.5 hours per day (including unpaid meal breaks)

Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport, WA)

 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and coordinate client technology engineering solutions from concept to completion
  • Develop and maintain project documentation to ensure compliance with Caterpiller standard practice, schedule, and risk standards
  • Participate in planning meetings with Service Operations and project teams to align activities and timelines
  • Support technology proposals and deployments by preparing initial specifications and technical documentation
  • Manage engineering deliverables with a focus on quality and compliance throughout execution
  • Contribute to technical aspects of project closeout, including final reviews and documentation
  • Promote continuous improvement across engineering processes and project delivery
  • Audit and inspect heavy machinery to determine technology fit

 

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant formal tertiary or trade qualification (e.g., mechanical, electrical, electronic); OR significant industry experience
  • Ability to engage with the broader team to solve complex problems
  • Mine site operational experience desired but not essential
  • Experience deploying technology in heavy equipment industries
  • Issue resolution and risk mitigation skills
  • Customer-centric approach with excellent communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills to manage deadlines and conflicting priorities
  • Experience with Autocad or similar desirable.
  • Experience with heavy machinery and ability to interpret electrical schematic for this machinery
  • Basic understanding of networking architecture
