Technology Area Manager

Reporting into Technology Service Operations Manager, the Technology Area Manager will join our team on a Full-time basis at our Perth Precinct Branch. This role involves being accountable for overseeing the financial and operational performance of the allocated technology operational team.
This pivotal role is accountable for maintaining and improving operational performance of technology operations. It includes managing customer relationships and providing strong leadership to team members within the area to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently upheld - resulting in exceptional customer satisfaction.
Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5 hours/day (including meal break)
What You’ll Do:
- Lead safety culture by modelling safe behaviours, completing safety activities, ensuring PPE compliance, and closing out incidents and near misses.
- Manage area performance by streamlining processes, meeting budgets, and driving continuous improvement with Supervisors and teams.
- Support resource planning by allocating staff effectively and preparing business cases for additional resources when needed.
- Deliver strategic goals by embedding the Technology Service strategy into operational plans and ensuring timely execution by Supervisors.
- Track and improve performance through monthly financial and KPI reviews, identifying variances, and implementing cost-effective solutions.
- Foster high performance by guiding teams, promoting values, and creating a culture of accountability and success.
- Develop team capability by providing training and considering succession planning to support long-term growth.
Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years post-qualification experience, including 5+ years in a related industry
- 5+ years people leadership experience in a similar environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service and build lasting relationships
- Skilled in data analysis and reporting
- Advanced computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Desirable: Familiarity with workorder management and cost recovery, Caterpillar systems (e.g. SIS, MineStar), and WesTrac processes
- Desirable: Strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy mobile equipment
