Reporting to the Technical Product Specialist Supervisor, the Technical Product Specialist will be the Subject Matter Expert in Caterpillar Command technology products with a focus to provide expert technical support to WesTrac stakeholders and customers. 

 

This specific role will be supporting the MineStar Command for Haul systems, focussing both onboard and office aspects of the product. The successful individual will be flexible, highly professional, and focused on working in partnership with all teams in the technology division, as well as actively contributing to the development of technical documentation, product training, advanced analysis and resolution of technology related issues.

Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport, WA)

Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5-hour days

 

Key focus areas where you will make a difference:

  • Provide high level specialist support and services to customers on a specific or limited expertise range of Caterpillar technology products such as MineStar office
  • Providing development and support to the WesTrac Autonomous Training Facility  
  • Consult with all stakeholders through identification and scoping of technical compatibilities and requirements to deliver on required end solution  
  • Create documentation reflective of subject matter expert engagement, which includes comprehensive post installation documentation, solution and architecture design, and first in class product releases

 

To be successful the following is required:

  • Demonstrated experience within a similar role and environment
  • Experience as a controller or builder with Fleet or AHS sites.
  • Advanced knowledge of the MineStar office environment
  • Knowledge of VM environments and virtualisation
  • Experience with Microsoft Active directory
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with the ability to cultivate relationships at all levels
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot, ideally in a support environment
  • Highly developed negotiation, mentoring and influencing skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of mining automation and control products and their application
